I posted a few weeks back about a Johnson 20 I picked up, model 20R72R (1972). I haven't spent much time on it yet, but have noticed a few unusual things. My first post was just wondering if the 20 and 25 hp were close enough cousins that I could upgrade it easily.
This Johnson has strong compression and runs great. This 20 hp Johnson weighs in at 118lbs which is the average weight of a 15 hp 4 stroke outboard. We have fully boat tested this motor and it runs perfectly. This is the same engine as the 25-35 hp outboards made by Johnson and Evinrude.
