7 kwi 2013 · From our text’s description of John the Baptist’s witness to Jesus we can learn five things about who Jesus is that will help us point others to Him: 1. Jesus is the sacrificial Lamb that every person needs to atone for his sins (1:29).
A key verse for understanding the Gospel of John is found at the end of the book: But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name (John 20:31).
JOHN 1:29 says He is the LAMB OF GOD. We saw in I Pt. 1:19 that we are redeemed by the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without spot or blemish. Rm. 3:25 says that God has "set Christ forth" (REVEALED) to be our propitiation through FAITH IN HIS BLOOD.
The Gospel of John was written to the whole world for the purpose of convincing people that Jesus is the Christ (which means Messiah...or „anointed one‟), and that by believing in Him, they might have eternal life in His name.
