14 mar 2023 · Answer. Use a web browser to visit canvas.jmu.edu. Use your activated JMU eID to log into Canvas. If your JMU eID is not activated, visit the JMU Computing Helpdesk eID page for more information.
Use Canvas for the First Time. Visit canvas.jmu.edu and log in with your JMU eID and Duo. Turn on your Canvas notifications so you can get important information from your instructors. If you are in an online class, check the JMU technology requirements for online learning.
If you are unable to log in to Canvas, but have access to your MyMadison Account: 1) Navigate to mymadison.jmu.edu and log in using your JMU eID. 2) Click this link to Canvas: Your Canvas account is part of JMU's Single Sign-On (SSO) federation and uses the same credentials that access other SSO student services such as your MyMadison page.
On this page, you’ll find expert advice on effective uses of Canvas for your teaching. Start using Canvas as a JMU instructor. Log in to canvas.jmu.edu to find out if you have a “course shell” already set up for the class you are teaching. If you do not have a course shell, contact LIDdesk@jmu.edu to request a course shell.
