By investigating 250 works of art characterized by diverse artistic traditions and culture from prehistory to the present, the course cultivates an in-depth, holistic understanding of the history of art from a global perspective.

Ghettos were enclosed districts of a city in which the Germans forced the Jewish population to live under miserable conditions. Ghettos isolated Jews by separating Jewish communities both from the population as a whole and from neighboring Jewish communities.
