3 lis 2009 · I have one of the JT270M rigs (aka Leixen 898). Not a bad radio, but as with all these Chinese rigs, there are issues. Mine works ok, with one exception...it will not scan VHF and UHF frequencies at the same time, that are stored in memory channels. It will either scan all VHF frequencies, or all UHF frequencies, but not both.
My Jetstream JT270M dual band transceiver works just fine, as it should. I purchased from R&L Electronics and it quickly replaced a faulty USB programming cable, which now works as it should. This is a very small, lightweight radio, that should be easy to mount in a vehicle or in the shack.
The radio is a Jetstream 270M which is sold as a Leixen VV-898 in other parts of the world. It is powered by a pair of 7 AH SLA batteries in parallel through a feeder box that combines an ON-OFF switch and a voltmeter/ammeter from Quicksilver Radio Products.
For two-meter ham radio repeaters that transmit a CTCSS signal on the output, I am able to set the JT270M to require the presence of the continuous tone before the carrier squelch opens. That gets rid of the spurious carrier squelch openings, but the Jetstream JT270 still produces "Boop-Beep-Boppp-Boop" audio superimposed on the recovered audio ...
