Jel is the language of the Argonians. According to them and to scholars, it does not have a system of tense, referring only to something in the past or in the future if needed. The vast majority of these words originate from the Elder Scrolls Online.
Jel is the native language of the Argonians. Jel originates from the ancient and intelligent Hist trees of Black Marsh. The Argonian Mere-Glim claimed that Jel was the "closest speech to thought", and that other races could not pronounce it well enough to freely converse with it.
So, here goes: Jel is the language spoken in Black Marsh by the native Argonian race. It is famous in all of Tamriel for its complicated grammar and hellish pronounciation, which make it very difficult for humans and mer to pronounce correctly.
Jel update: First steps! A couple months ago, I said I would be going through everything we have that I can find on the Jel language, and doing what I can to reconstruct it.
Annaig, a breton girl in the book Infernal City (which I very much recommend reading if you wish to learn about Jel, argonian culture, black marsh, and whatnot), does speak fluent Jel. It is pretty safe to assume pretty much nobody outside of Black Marsh speaks Jel.
