In short, the HEI gives a hotter, longer-duration spark for better ignition and more complete combustion. It eliminates the ballast resistor, which is a common failure point with Mopar points and electronic ignition systems.

  5. 1 lis 2005 · The drive gear found on stock 79 & later Jeeps with the Duraspark ignition will not fit properly on the HEI distributor. This problem is easily remedied with the purchase of a new drive gear.

  7. 8 sty 2015 · To me, something is wired incorrectly to give me all of these issues between fluctuating voltmeter, tach not working properly and low idle. It seems like a simple fix but I am completely stumped. I posted my exact issues on another thread thinking it was all related to my alternator.
