22 gru 2009 · The 2.5L is a good motor.....under powered for the mountains, especially if you put on bigger tires. It's nicknamed "The Iron Duke" because of it's reliability. Fuel Mileage will NOT be much better then a 4.0 unless you drive it like a grandma (I got 16-17 all the time).
27 sty 2024 · Jeep's 1980s era 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine didn't have a ton of power behind it, but it was incredibly reliable, something it's still known for today.
25 cze 2021 · The 2.5L 4 cylinder engine was a good motor that can be found across many different Jeep vehicles and is known to last a long time. If you want better fuel economy and do not care as much about performance then getting a 2.5L is a great choice when you are looking at used Jeeps.
18 kwi 2010 · The 2.5L (the old OHV valve engine used through 2002-ish) is basically a 4 cylinder relative of the 4.0L. They share costs by using similar machining operations, and many common parts (such as valvetrain components and internal engine parts that have nothing to do with length).
The AMC straight-4 engine is a 2.5 L inline-four engine developed by American Motors Corporation (AMC) that was used in a variety of AMC, Jeep, and Dodge vehicles from 1984 through 2002. The 2.5 L I4 Jeep engine shared design elements and some internal components with the AMC 4.0 L I6 that was introduced for the 1987 model year.
10 kwi 2012 · Previous Jeep propaganda claims the 2.5 is basically a 4.0 with 2 cylinders lopped off. With the 2.5, you basically have a 4.0 missing approx 1/3 of the displacement and 1/3 of the hp. It has proven to be a very reliable engine if you don't have need for the hp.
