6 gru 2013 · Are there any command line scripts and/or online tools that can reverse the effects of minification similar to how Tidy can clean up horrific HTML? (I'm specifically looking to unminify a minified JavaScript file, so variable renaming might still be an issue.)
This blog introduces a novel way to reverse minified Javascript using large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT and llama2 while keeping the code semantically intact. The code is open source and available at Github project Humanify.
In general, it depends on the minify method that was used. This one formats the code and has lots of options. It can also unpack "packed" scripts (packed with Dean Edward's packer). A handy variant of this code is available as a Firefox plugin Javascript Deminifier.
