21 paź 2021 · ZF 8-Speed Transmission Upgrades. The 8HP45/50 may only be rated to just under 400 lb-ft of torque, but ZF’s other 8-speeds, like the 8HP70, can hold significantly more. Swapping from an 8HP45 to 8HP70 is possible and has been done before in BMW’s 3-series.

8 paź 2021 · My transmission has always had a faint whine most noticeably in 2nd and 5th gears. It sounds like an alternator whining but it is indeed the transmission. Dealers and mechanics have said it is normal as these transmissions have planet gears, which apparently create some whine eventually. (Only going off what I have read and been told).
General Motors allows 3 seconds for the transmission to complete a garage shift, shifting from Park to Reverse or Park to Drive. If the engine speed is increased before the transmission has engaged, the garage shift may be harsh.
