Vaishno Devi Temple, also known as the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple and Vaishno Devi Bhavan, is a Hindu temple located in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, dedicated to Vaishno Devi, a manifestation of Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasarasvati.
Thus Vaishnavi, in the form of a five and a half feet tall rock with three heads or the Pindies on the top is the ultimate destination of a devotee. These Pindies constitute the Sanctum Sanctorum of the holy cave known as the shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji, which is revered by one and all.

The atmosphere is filled with the sounds of bhajans (devotional songs) and the collective chants of “Jai Mata Di” (Victory to Mother Goddess), creating an aura of spiritual fervor.
Visiting Maa Vaishnodevi temple was very different to what I'd envisioned. The climb is anything but easy! There are chopper rides available for those who can afford but they need to be booked well in advance.
