The city’s metro, known as the KTM Komuter, began operation in 1995. It consists of two main lines: Seremban and Port Klang, complemented by three light rail lines and a monorail. This extensive rail network operates from 5.30am to midnight.
Trains run between JB Sentral and Gemas or Pulau Sebang (Tampin), and also on the East Coast Line between Gemas and Tumpat, offering convenient access to Gua Musang, Kuala Krai and Kota Bharu (Wakaf Bharu). Crossing international borders, trains also run to Woodlands CIQ, Singapore.
Komuter’s top speed is at 175 km/h (109 mi/h), route connected to 57 stations. It consists of two lines, namely the Batu Caves – Tampin/Pulau Sebang and Tg. Malim – Port Klang lines. Transfers between the two lines can be done at Putra, Bank Negara, Kuala Lumpur & KL Sentral stations.
