"Kelly Sasso co-anchors the 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscast weekdays on Pittsburgh’s Action News 4." She is a western Pennsylvania native, having grown up in Greensburg and joined WTAE in 2017.

Like its NBC rival, WPXI, Channel 4 was not a major player in news coverage in its early years, as the Pittsburgh market was dominated by KDKA-TV and anchor Bill Burns. That changed in 1969, when longtime KDKA radio-and-TV newscaster Paul Long joined WTAE-TV, along with his KDKA meteorologist-sidekick Joe DeNardo.
