The Qaṣaṣ al-anbiyāʾ (Arabic: قصص الأنبياء) or Stories of the Prophets is any of various collections of stories about figures recognised as prophets and messengers in Islam, closely related to tafsīr (exegesis of the Qur'an).
Some included legends are the story of Cain and Abel (sura al-Ma'idah, of Abraham destroying idols (sura al-Anbiya 57), of Solomon's conversation with an ant (sura an-Naml), the story of the Seven Sleepers, and several stories about Mary, mother of Jesus.
