The VINTGAR parking lot in Blejska Dobrava is closed. Vintgar Gorge in Slovenia’s Julian Alps is one of the most beautiful gorges in the world. Nature had the wild Vintgar Gorge to itself for more than 10,000 years – since the end of the last ice age. Today the gorge is the gateway to the Triglav National Park.

During winter the gorge is officially closed, although you can still access it at your own risk. Apparently it can be dangerous in winter when the ice between the rocks freezes. So, be very careful, wear a good pair of shoes with good soles and probably go in a group in case anything does happen.
