Nexus is probably the safest place to get mods for your games. Forcing premium and "custom downloader" in your face and then also requiring registration for one simple mode looks very fishy to me. 11 votes, 10 comments. I'm new to PC games, have skyrim on steam, and want to begin modding it.
Yes it's safe. With extremely extremely few exceptions, mods are NOT executable software. They're just a set of record changes. Impossible for viruses infect them. Trojans are always possible of course, which is why you use Nexus instead of randomly downloading shit from a link someone posted. Nexus scans all their mods.

20 wrz 2019 · Mod managers by their nature deals a lot with creating, copying and deleting files, that's more dangerous if it's bugged than, say, a software for creating presentations. Plus: No software today is built from the ground up, any developer uses external software (libraries) which may also have issues.

30 wrz 2017 · If the mods are downloaded through nexus mod manager, they are 100% safe. Nexus isn't going to allow some virus to load through their manager. The ones that are manual downloaded are like 90% safe.
