Not only do the files get scanned, the Nexus staff actually reacts quickly to alerts and does not hesitate to swing the banhammer.

  5. Nexus uses Virus Total for its virus scan. You can view the files within a download if you're suspicious. (Just click "Preview File Contents" on the mod file.) You can just download manually then scan with Windows or Malwarebytes. Then install the archive into your mod manager.
