Some things I personally learned from this experiment: 8k gaming is a thing, it's damn pretty, I'd compare the jump in fidelity to the shock of when I moved up from 1080p to 4k, just this time from 4k up to 8k. If you are aiming for 60fps, 8k will not be your thing for a long time coming.

8k is really only worth it for emulation and older games. It's fairly trivial to hit 8k60 in games like Dark Souls 1+2 and Mario Kart 8 looks absolutely stunning at 8k. But if you intend to play any kind of modern game then you can basically forget about it.
Don't, 8K gaming is so far off to the point that when you actually will be gaming comfortably at 8K every single damn feature of that TV will be outdated and the panel while 8K will not be anything near the quality, energy efficiency, or color accuracy of the time. Remember, 4K was possible in 2001, and that isn't even really mainstream yet!
