I'm a fan of Improved Backpacks. Has a simple, consistent aesthetic that doesn't look like vomit. Upgrades are nice and reasonable. Also wearable in baubles slot. Ignore the extra features added after 1.12, those sources of complexity are not present in the 1.12 version.

For anyone who's curious, here's a list of upgrades: Nesting - Put backbacks inside of other backpacks. Nested backpacks have full functionality. Right click a nested backback to open it. Pulling - Auto-collects items picked up from the ground. Can be filtered. Void upgrade - Will delete items inside the backback. Must be filtered.
