I would like to reassign the conflicting IRQs to unused slots. However, when I open a device's properties from Device Manager and go to its Resources tab, the option to "Use automatic settings" is disabled/grayed out. Is there another way that I can change the IRQ assignments? I am using Windows XP-64 Pro. Thanks.
You can avoid IRQ sharing between devices and fix a IRQ conflict if you change the PCI or PCIe slot for the devices you want to get assigned with a different IRQ. Avoid IRQ sharing by changing the interrupt mode to MSI(Message signaled interrupts)

To resolve conflicts with PCI or ISA cards try manually setting them in your motherboard 's BIOS, or try a different slot for the newly installed device. You will usually find that by changing the slot you will change the IRQ channel as well.
