Iron dragons are metal dragons. As with all adult dragons, iron dragons have the ability to breathe fire. Thus, protection such as an anti-dragon shield, dragonfire shield, antifire potions, or super antifire potions are essential.
Would recommend just point boosting with wilderness slayer or Turael + Konar boosting for a solid starting foundation of slayer points to skip these kinds of tasks, so really, there's never a reason to do a metal dragon task unless you're super unlucky.

I currently have Iron Dragons, Steel Dragons, and Elves blocked. I've been thinking though, with the new Super Antifire potion, would Dharok'ing Iron Dragons be an option?.. and quicker than a full Spiritual Creatures task?
