Crop Groups – What are they? • Crop groups allow regulators to establish tolerances for multiple commodities based on data from representative commodities. • Crop groups preclude the need to develop residue data for every food or feed crop for every pesticide.
IR-4 understands these crop concepts and budgets its research to reflect the highest or best return-on-investment by utilizing U.S. EPA regulations concerning crop groups. IR-4 continues to support Section 18 exemptions with its crop grouping database (Dorschner).
