18 maj 2016 · My suggested edit is to first install the Preferred PDF reader (e.g., Adobe Acrobat) and then set the PDF default as the PDF reader should show up in the list you show. My Outlook just recently started losing its mind and did not find a reader even though MS Edge had recently been set (likely by the system) as default.
24 maj 2023 · Once you have adjusted these settings, try opening a PDF attachment in Outlook again. It should now open in your default PDF viewer instead of just displaying the preview. You should be able to review the attachment in detail, rotate pages, and perform other functions available in your PDF viewer.
You should be able to do this by opening Windows Settings and opening Default Apps. From there, you can change PDFs to open in Adobe instead of Edge (Microsoft's default setting). Please let me know if you would like further guidance on how to do this. Warm Regards, Joe
