iPad Mini still sees a lot of use for schools, children and for PoS (Points of Sale) setups, and Apple upgrades it pretty infrequently anyways. It’ll get upgraded but they’ll probably be to keep feature parity with the Airs every few years and whatever’s the most available A-series chip in the year.
Just note that there are rumors that there might be an iPad mini 7 with minor spec bumps announced in October. Just bought one. If the 7 is an upgrade worth getting I will upgrade and sell the 6. I have a 5, waiting for the 7. I love my mini 6. I use it for everything!
