18 sty 2010 · Anyone had any experience with a Pre-ban Tec9? I'm kinda interested but I don't know much about them or their worth. Here is the ad for the one I'm looking at and a pic "Intratec Tec 9 that is in like new condition. It is a pre ban, open bolt model from the early to mid '80s.
I'm in the market for another intratec, I have an AB-10 already, but upon searching in my local city at pawn shops I have come across a safe queen find it seems. Lets be honest though the price is steep. $1100, now I know it is a pre ban Tec-9 new in box.
14 maj 2024 · The TEC-9's infamy was cemented when it was named in the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban in the United States, which targeted firearms deemed too dangerous for civilian ownership. Intratec responded by modifying the TEC-9 to comply with new regulations, renaming it the TEC-DC9.
2 kwi 2013 · This ban caused the cessation of their manufacture, and forced Intratec to introduce a newer model called the AB-10, a TEC-9 Mini without a threaded muzzle/barrel shroud and limited to a 10 round magazine instead of a 20 or 32 round magazine.
10 paź 2014 · Mine is a pre ban / pre 94 and I may have a whole box of 50 rounds through it. It's heavy, not well balanced, and has little ability as far as possible options. Also most 9mm ammo will penetrate more residential walls than most .223 ammo.
The TEC-9 became illegal as a result of the 1994 AWB, which resulted in the design being modified to the AB-9 (AB standing for "After Ban"). Interdynamic eventually closed its doors and Kel-Tec never attempted to revive the IP.
