19 lis 2019 · The interferon epigenomic signature affects ISGs and other gene sets, including canonical targets of the transcription factor NF-κB that encode inflammatory molecules, and is involved in the...
19 cze 2018 · Signalling by the IFNγ receptor activates the Janus kinase (JAK)–signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (STAT1) pathway to induce the expression of classical interferon-stimulated...
3 lip 2020 · Sequencing of fragments of the feline interferon-gamma gene (fIFNG) in a mixed population of cats, with and without FIP, found an increased risk of FIP associated with a heterozygous genotype (CT) at two closely sited SNPs, g.401 and g.408, which were also found to be in complete linkage disequilibrium .
1 lis 2021 · Five unique interferon-gamma proteins were identified from the seventeen Felidae sequences, categorised as ‘Cat’ (domestic cat, cougar and cheetah), ‘Lynx’ (Canadian lynx and Iberian lynx), ‘Cheetah’ (cheetah), ‘Tiger’ (tiger, leopard and lion), and ‘Lion’ (lion).
In response to infection, a small protein called interferon-γ (IFN-γ) is synthesized and released by several types of cells belonging to the immune system. IFN-γ acts on both immune and nonimmune cells to provide protection against bacteria, parasites, and fungi.
Microarray data has unraveled numerous genes whose transcriptional regulation is influenced by IFN-γ. Consequently, IFN-γ stimulated cells display altered expression of many such target genes which mediate its downstream effector functions.
This review focuses on the diverse positive and negative roles of IFN-γ in immune cell activation and differentiation leading to protective immune responses, as well as the paradoxical effects of IFN-γ within the tumor microenvironment that determine the ultimate fate of that tumor in a cancer-bearing individual.
