A lot of your experience with the job would depend on the school you have, and they vary greatly. The money is terrible, but no one comes to be an ALT for the money. Interac itself, for my 4 years with them, were very hands off and I only got observed once. Staff were nice and easy to deal with.
Hi, I have an interview with Interac tomorrow. And the closer this becomes a reality, the more I grow concerned about it. I've read a bunch of Reddit threads weighing the pros and cons of Interac. But many of the threads are a few years old. And some of the information given is vague.
Many interac ALTs have to take out loans from interac to make ends meet. They are usually dependant on interac for overpriced car rentals, phone plans, and housing setups that keep them deep in the clutches of interac during their stay in Japan.

It's one of the larger providers of ALTs and AETs to public schools. Does anyone have any experiences (good or bad) with working for Interac?

Similar to other teaching programs, experiences seemed to be dependent on the schools the ALTs were placed in and what their Japanese coworkers were like. Some raved about their placements, others struggled with dominant coworkers and language barriers.
