12 lis 2017 · After searching over an hour, most of the other answers pointed to a page mentioning that SE 6 is very old and therefore not available, I found your answer, downloaded that Java installer and now I can continue using Adobe Illustrator CS3.
Pick the version you want to be the default (1.6.0_65-b14-462 for arguments sake) then: export JAVA_HOME=`/usr/libexec/java_home -v 1.6.0_65-b14-462`. or you can specify just the major version, like: export JAVA_HOME=`/usr/libexec/java_home -v 1.8`. Now when you run java -version you will see: java version "1.6.0_65".

Java 7 and later versions are not supported by these older versions of Mac OS X. If you have problems with Java 6, contact Apple Technical Support.
After installing Java for macOS 2012-006, /usr/bin/java will find the newest JDK installed, and will use that for all of the Java-related command-line tools in /usr/bin. You may need to modify those applications to find Java 6, or contact the developer for a newer version of the application.
