8 maj 2018 · The cover in the middle of your pic, with the brackets for holding plastic wire clips, is from the 70s most likely...the other ones, with no clips or small, simple tabs, are the 50s-60s style. Most original small blocks up to the mid 60s had one clip on the driver side to hold the temp gauge wire.

You aren't going to be able to tell what year the motor is based on the center bolt valve covers and the carb alone. You need to use the casting numbers on the motor and heads to tell what year it is.
