90% of the ads I get are between 2-5 minutes long, they do still have the skip button though. Very annoying if you’re not in a position to press the skip button like driving and listening to a playlist. Sit there and listen to a 2:45 ad for an American coat that would cost me £40 just to ship to myself.
YouTube’s been rolling out updates to fight ad blockers. I’ve been using ublock on Firefox for years without problem until recently. The only work around right now is use chrome browser with Ublock origin lite. I’m back to ad free videos on YouTube now!
Long ads are never unskippable. Usually the reason this happens is that you have an ad blocker which is blocking the skip button because it comes from a known domain but the actual ad url has slipped through. Only if the blocked domain list is perfect, which sometimes it isn't. And then this happens.
