You can give him 3 pieces of infernal iron to get a chestpiece, helmet, and gloves. But if you wait till act 3 it's bugged and they don't show up in your inventory. Can use a mod (such as "spawn any item") to get the pieces at that point, hopefully they just fix the bug someday though. Just FYI, this is fixed with Patch 3.
