I use imgur. Instead of copying the link in the browser, right click on the image itself and select "copy image url" or "copy image link". That's worked for me!

The trick is making sure the link you're using leads directly to the image. It will usually end in .jpeg, .jpg, or some other image file type. Most sites don't have that link in the address bar, so you have to either view source, or click the options that allow you to share the image.
