VFW’s “Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship”: The 2025 Spring Semester is open and closes Nov. 15, 2024. The application is only available online at vfw.org/Scholarship. A total of 660 veterans, military members and their families were supported through our VMS Programs during September 2024.
The VMS program oversees the Military Assistance Program (MAP), the Adopt-a-Unit Program, the Unmet Needs program, and the VFW’s "Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship”. We also oversee the donations which go to the VMS programs which provide the monetary support for most of these programs.

The Department 2024-2025 VMS and Veteran Mental Health & Welfare Program is a merged program of these two program components which have many similar goals and impact.
