In 2022, there were 1,147 fatal crashes on Illinois roads resulting in 1,268 deaths. This represents a 5% decrease in both fatal crashes and fatalities from 2021. Although there was a .9% increase in the number of total crashes, we also saw a 1.9% decrease in the total number of injuries in 2022.
