22 mar 2019 · Actually using "Danish oil" (usually a varnish and oil blend) is an option, but I think it's better to go straight to varnish myself. It can be just as easy to apply, in a wipe-on/wipe-off manner, and it's tougher, more durable and more water-resistant. See more on wiping varnish in this Question.
A solid wood worktop must be treated several times with STOCKARYD wood oil before installation and also immediately after installation. Even after the first use, you must maintain the worktop regularly to prevent damage.
22 sty 2018 · I bought (gerton top taple) from IKEA and the instructions require to apply the (behandla treatment oil) "Apply a thin coat of BEHANDLA wood treatment oil. Leave the oil to penetrate the wood for about 2 hours.
19 lut 2016 · Modern kitchen worktop oils are highly refined and are blended with solvents to thin and aid penetration into the surface of the wooden work top. In many cases, especially on denser woods, traditional wood oils will not penetrate in to the wood as well unless they are first thinned with turps.
