Once you get your online tickets, you’re directed to meet at the “Activities Center” where the tour guide leads you back across the ice covered parking lot to the museum. There are approximately 50 people waiting to get into the museum. Warm parkas are provided if you need (but, eewww-have they been washed any time this year????).
Devoted to all things ice, this museum will put you in a winter mood no matter what the summer temperatures are like. You'll see several large ice displays, a freezer you can go in to feel like it's 20 degrees below zero, a huge-screen slide show with the annual World Ice Art championships, and freezers with huge ice tableaux.
Located along 2nd Avenue in downtown Fairbanks, this museum gives you a chance to take photos with some ice sculptures all year long. There's also a short ice slide for added fun. Its schedule changes according to seasons, so be sure to check it out before visiting the place. Read more.

You can visit just the Ice Museum and not go into or pay for the hot springs. Don't know about transportation out there though. You cannot make a reservation, but just show up to the activity center at least 15 minutes before the tour that you would like to go on, to make sure you have time to sign up for it.
