Dragon Caves are underground structures that house one level 4 or 5 dragon. Dragon caves are the only natural spawning place of wild stage 4 and 5 dragons, of which the females drop Dragon Eggs. As of yet, there is no reliable way of locating a dragon cave in survival.

Scout the biome either looking at your mini-map or the whole map (default hotkey is "m"). The dragon icons are small, but visible and will be easy to identify with time. Tier 1-3 dragons also show on your map, so don't be confused when you suddenly find a surface lair.
