Dragon Armor is a special type of armor that can be equipped on a tamed Dragon to up their defense and protection. There are 8 different types of dragon armour: Copper, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Silver, Ice Dragonsteel Fire Dragonsteel and Lightning Dragonsteel.
Dragonsteel armor is armor made from Fire/Ice/Lightning dragonsteel ingots which are obtained from dragon forges. It provides protection against dragon breath attacks. It is made in the same way as Minecraft armor.
The ice and fire mod adds eight types of player armor, and armor for dragons and Hippogryphs too.

So I went into single player to tinker around with dragon armor, and I found some disappointing results and wanted to see if anyone could correct me, or if they found similar results. I am playing on 1.16 most updated fire and ice mod.
Dragon roosts and caverns - where you can fight dragons and find grand treasures. Dragon eggs - which can be found in dragon caves. Dragon taming and riding - mount up your tamed dragons and even armour them. Dragon equipment - craft tools and weapons from dragon bones and armours from dragon scales.
Run up while the dragon is far away, use a good axe to quickly break the chest, and run away. Or dig under the nest and break chests from underneath, being careful not to break any gold. If you'd like diamond armor, dig at about Y-11 to find diamonds.
