16 mar 2016 · The idea to Ctrl-Z to suspend the current CLP and start another one (to kill the first one's query) is a good idea. I can then exit the second CLP and return to the first one. It's the closest to what I want - no server configuration, no need for another terminal session, keeps history, kill query only (not whole process).

To stop several processes that ignore the default signal, enter the following command: kill -kill 2098 1569. This sends signal 9, the SIGKILL signal, to processes 2098 and 1569. The SIGKILL signal is a special signal that normally cannot be ignored or overridden.
