Apprenticeship is the union system for new members to join the Building Trades. The apprenticeship system is open to all. Apprentices take classes and get paid, on-the-job training.
Once you’re done with your apprenticeship you have the option of taking overtime calls or normal 40 hour calls. If you take a 40 hour call then all overtime is optional and not mandatory. Typically the schedule is 7-3:30 unless there is no noise ordinance and the consensus is 6am start to beat traffic (I’m in the bay).
