So I’ve read about Plex releasing a new media server preview for Windows 64-bit systems and that it doesn’t currently offer many benefits to the standard 32-bit media server, but that it will open the door for more features in the future.
Wanted to share my positive experience with the 64 bit Windows server. Hardware: i5-12600k, integrated gpu + RTX a2000, wired gigabit connection to server and Nvidia shield pro on the same switch.

24 cze 2024 · If you plan to use MSSQL server for TV it is necessary to install it yourself before installing Mediaportal with TV Server. Instructions for previous versions are on the wiki, note that new versions were not checked for 100% compatibility.
7 mar 2024 · Follow the NAS manufacturer’s installation procedure to install the Plex Media Server; If you have problems, visit the Plex Media Server NAS forums and search for your device for help; To setup the server, open a browser window and go to http://local.nas.ip.address:32400/web (e.g http://192.168.1.5:32400/web). All you have to do is run the 64-bit installer, which should handle removing the 32-bit version as well. Maybe there are some additional considerations if you're running Plex as a service, or customized your install directory, but for most people there's nothing special that needs to be done.
