What is hypertension? Hypertension is diagnosed when your blood pressure is consistently high. The World Health Organization estimates that globally, 1.28 billion adults between the ages of 30 and 79 have hypertension. Around 46% of adults who have hypertension are unaware of their condition, and only 42% are diagnosed and treated.
