Camping & Picnicking. There are seven public campgrounds at Huntington lake which include: Upper Billy Creek, Lower Billy Creek, Catavee, Deer Creek, Kinnikinnick, College and Rancheria. At Badger Flat above Huntington Lake is a group campsite which is available to reserve.
Deer Creek Campground is located in California Sierra National Forest. The campground is tucked under dense fir and pines along the shore of Huntington Lake and offers scenic lake views, especially during the annual sailboat regatta. Boats can be moored near some of the camp sites.

Shaded by dense fir and pine trees, College Campground is located on Huntington Lake near the Kaiser Wilderness. The camp features tent-only sites in open, meadow-like spaces or wooded sites among pine and fir trees. Some sites have lake views and each site has a table, fire ring, and grill.
