10 wrz 2024 · I have a set of Cutco steak knives and I do like them but for me, and my biased opinion, I prefer a better alloy than they use for a hunting knife that can run 62-63hrc with a fine edge geometry. Also hardness is only one measurement of heat treat or steel quality.
30 paź 2006 · The Cutco hunter you are speaking of is a fine knife if used for cutting/slicing etc. It does not, however, rank with even a Buck 119 in terms of raw strength. Cutco makes a 440 blade which remains sharp for an extended period of time due to the edge configuration.

14 mar 2018 · I (and several guys I know and hunt with) own and really like the DD-edge Cutco. I had butchered a couple moose with conventional good knives and all of them required a touch-up (or 4) during the process. My first go with the Cutco DD had me doing a moose start-to-finish with zero touch-up.
