5 cze 2018 · An effect estimate greater than 1 (incident HPV) indicates increased HPV incidence in those with HIV infection compared to HIV ‐negative individuals. An effect estimate less than 1 (HPV clearance) indicates decreased rate of HPV clearance in those with HIV infection compared to HIV ‐negative individuals.
Results. Overall, 38 of 1845 abstracts identified met inclusion criteria. HIV-positive women had higher HPV acquisition (relative risk [RR pooled]=2.64, 95% confidence interval [CI] 2.04–3.42) and lower HPV clearance (hazard ratio [HR pooled]=0.72, 95% CI 0.62–0.84) than HIV-negative women.
Here we review current insights into how HPV infection and the generation of anti-HPV immunity contribute to higher HIV transmission rates, and the impact of HPV on mucosal inflammation, immune cell trafficking, and epithelial barrier function.
1 lut 2018 · HIV–HPV interactions should influence public health decisions towards prioritising large-scale prepubertal HPV vaccination, secondary cervical cancer prevention by screening and early detection programmes for HIV-infected women to complement early initiation of ART.
18 sty 2024 · Women with HIV, with low CD4 cell count and with multiple HPV infections might be at higher risk of cervical abnormalities and need improved clinical management. Inclusion of HPV 53, 31, 66 in vaccines is needed.
28 lut 2020 · We characterized HPV genotypes within cervical tumor biopsies, assessed the relationships of cervical disease stage with age, HIV-1 status, absolute CD4 count, and CD4 percentage, and identified the predictive power of these variables for cervical disease stage in a cohort of South African women.
9 lip 2024 · Assessment of Anal Cytology and HPV Results in People With HIV. Epidemiology. At least 12 human papillomavirus (HPV) types are considered oncogenic, including HPV16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, and 59. 1-3 HPV68 is considered “probably oncogenic,” and several other HPV types are considered “possibly oncogenic.”
