5 cze 2018 · The association between HIV and HPV for grouped HPV types ([any]HPV, HR‐HPV or LR‐HPV) could be measured in the study using one of three different units of analysis for HPV: individual‐level, type‐level, or visit‐level.
Although most HPV infections will spontaneously resolve, a considerable proportion of them will persist, increasing the risk of anogenital dysplasia, especially within certain populations, such as patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Furthermore, high-risk oncogenic HPV types (HR-HPV) are the main cause of cervix and other ...
1 lut 2018 · HIV–HPV interactions should influence public health decisions towards prioritising large-scale prepubertal HPV vaccination, secondary cervical cancer prevention by screening and early detection programmes for HIV-infected women to complement early initiation of ART.
27 mar 2018 · HIV-positive women had higher HPV acquisition [relative risk (RRpooled) 2.64, 95% confidence interval (CI) 2.04-3.42] and lower HPV clearance (hazard ratiopooled 0.72, 95% CI 0.62-0.84) than HIV-negative women.
CD4 cell count in HIV-positive women is inversely associated with risk of HPV infection and cervical lesion progression. Further, several studies showed that women with high CD4 count (>500 cells/mm 3) had similar risk of HPV disease progression as HIV-negative women.
Here we review current insights into how HPV infection and the generation of anti-HPV immunity contribute to higher HIV transmission rates, and the impact of HPV on mucosal inflammation, immune cell trafficking, and epithelial barrier function.
