I'm from Florida, so the drive to HP is 8 hours for me. I think it's completely worth it compared to LRC and Rock Town. I've also bouldered in Colorado in the Garden of The Gods. HP is my favorite. The slopers at the top make really good "tension" problems.
Go for all the climbs rated high in guide. For moderates, definitely Bumboy, Genesis, Mariachi, Man with the slow hand. Those were my (and everyones) faves, no matter how hard you climb. I would add Copa cabana, Earth wind and fire, The Thespian, and if you want to do something to brag about do Mortal combat up the left side.
Perhaps the easiest v4 at hp40, which is known for it's stout ratings and harder problems. If you need an ego boost this straightforward problem might be the solution. Reply reply

I've been climbing here for a few years now and it really is the best gym in the area. Staff is helpful and kind, gym stays clean and fresh (even during covid chaos) and the routes are changing every week! They offer a lot of classes for the novice and the more experienced climber and they truly care about giving back to our columbus community.
