Ethernet, Cat5 outlet is built in the wall, and there is only 1 outlet in each room. I would like to take this 1 outlet coming out the wall and multiply it into 4 wires, for desktop, Playstation, TV and laptop, without losing any Internet bandwidth.

12 paź 2016 · Use a switch, but make sure it supports Gigabit Ethernet (rather than just Fast Ethernet) since your connection is faster than 100 Mbps. You'll need an extra cable that goes from the wall into any port on the switch, and then you plug your other devices into any of the other ports on the switch.
You can build an adapter for each end or terminate the cable yourself (again, both ends) to get a pair of 100 meg connections from one cable. You do need to do this on both ends and give it two separate ports on a switch/router, because you're basically turning one cable into two.
