10 cze 2021 · I just found the perfect swag pendant light at a salvage yard, brought it home, plugged it in, and it works!!! However, the chain on the swag is very corroded and rusty and needs to be replaced. Any suggestions on a) how to get it off and b) how to put a new one on?
30 wrz 2024 · Begin by carefully removing the lamp shade, setting it aside in a safe location. If your lamp features a harp—the metal frame that holds the shade—gently detach that as well. Next, focus on the socket. Depending on your lamp's design, you may need to unscrew or disconnect the socket from the base.
Step 3: Knot and Secure the New Cord. I received some really fun fabric-covered lamp cord from Color Cord Company. I used a special razor tool to cut the taped fabric layer and wire insulation, then stripped the wire ends. Once the lamp cord is inserted through the lamp, it’s time to tie the two ends in a lineman’s knot.
2 cze 2016 · Take the light bulb out, unscrew any bolts that are tightening the socket at the lamp base (mine was inside the neck of the glass bottom), slide off cover that goes around the socket (not pictured), pull down the bottom cover of socket to expose wires.
1 lut 2021 · Thread your base cord through the bottom-most part of your tension pole lamp, where the original cord had been. The stripped wires should be going up through any lower piece that connects to your torched piece, and the plug should be stuck outside of the bottom piece.
