9 maj 2015 · The original surround is sandwiched in between the cone and their "w-cone". The replacement foam glues to the topside of the cone. I want to try repairing the sub myself before I send it away to JL and have them rebuild it. Is there a glue that I can use to repair the original foam?
23 lis 2008 · I soaked/softened the glue on rubbing alcohol and used sharp putty knife / carpet knife, holding the knife in place and rotating the woofer carefully. This removed the big chunks quite easily. I then gently rubbed the rest of the glue off with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

Step 1 Subwoofer Rubber Surround Repair. Assess the damage. Depending on the severity of the cut, you may need some other scaffolding material (aside from RTV silicone) to enclose the hole. This is especially true if a chunk of the rubber material is completely missing from the rubber surround.
